Amanda was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 30 1979. She spent her childhood in Rhinelander, Wisconsin which instilled in her a love of the Northwoods. After graduating from Rhinelander High School, Amanda attended Mount Mary College for two years before moving to her beloved Door County where she developed a network of close friends.
Amanda was quiet, creative and possessed of a wry sense of humor. Her artistic talent and love of art influenced all aspects of her life. She was a devoted mother and she and Emmet loved the trails and beaches of Door County. Amanda’s spiritual and everlasting presence resides in those trails, beaches, and forests. For much of her childhood, Amanda camped with her siblings in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, accompanied her parents on archaeological projects, and otherwise found peace in nature. When she wasn’t enjoying the out of doors she could be found demonstrating her impressive bowling skills. Amanda loved music and on occasion could be persuaded to dance with friends.
Amanda will be cremated at Simply Cremation in Green Bay, Wisconsin. A memorial service will be held at the AC Tap, 9322 WI-57, Baileys Harbor, WI 54202 on May 20 at 11:11 AM. Anyone with memories, stories, or keepsakes is invited to attend and share. In light of the extraordinary challenges Amanda’s son Emmet faces as he transitions through the difficulty of life without his beloved mother, a GoFundMe page has been created in his name. https://gofund.me/5e180ebf
