Amy (Surber)Alsteen

November 30, 1968 — January 13, 2024

Greenleaf

Amy Marie (Surber) Alsteen, 55, of Green Bay found eternal peace and comfort on Jan 13,2024 after a fierce battle with cancer. Those who know her know that she fought and held on as long as she could until Family and Friends tearfully let her know it was ok to let go.

Amy was born on November 30,1968 to parents Jon Surber and Erma (Francart) Chandler. Jon would go on to marry Kathy (Lemerond) Surber, who would also be a significant part of Amy's upbringing, along with Erma, loving Amy as her own.  Amy would go on to graduate from Green Bay Southwest High School in 1987 and have 3 wonderful children: Amanda, Tony, and Elizabeth.

After high school, Amy would work as a car salesperson at Bay City Chrysler, and later at Saturn of Green Bay. Also would work as a Goldsmith and Jeweler in between, as well as bartending, and property management, at times working 3 jobs while raising her children. It is amazing how she was able to balance everything and make ends meet. Amy and her forever love John Alsteen would meet while she was working at Saturn in 1994, but did not start dating until 2010, marrying in 2019. Amy and John would open their car dealership, Alsteen Automotive, in 2020, where they would work together every day. This only strengthened their relationship, love, and respect for each other. Amy's passion for making positive connections would be revitalized during this time. She excelled at building a successful business with her infectious smile, welcoming personality, and the amazing self confidence she had about her. earning herself a nomination as a top 3 finalist in the Best of the Bay car salesperson category. This would carry over in her personal life, with her ability to win people over, especially children! Kids would always seem to gravitate towards her with her calming smile and the compassionate demeanor. Then came the cancer diagnosis in 2021. She would fight fiercely and was feeling very well for 2 years, being able to go on a few adventurous vacations to her favorite places: Belize, and Sedona AZ, returning to where she married John one more time. Then in July of 2023 her health would decline, taking away her ability to work or enjoy the things she loved to do like hiking, concerts, and rock hunting.
