Benjamin Robert Spence, age 44, of Green Bay, passed on August 4, 2019 at Edenbrook Nursing Center in Green Bay after a brief time in hospice.
Ben is survived by his loving wife, Ann; two children, Sonja and Everett; parents, Bob Spence and Pam Spence; one sibling, Tony (Heather) Spence; in-laws, Jerry and Marcia Macuk; and many additional family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his godparents Bill and Katie Spence, cousin Patton Prunty, and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Ben had many fond memories growing up in Phillips, WI. Whether he was fishing, water skiing, or snowmobiling he was always on the go. Even in the “northwoods” of Wisconsin, the world was only big enough for one Ben Spence. Ben treated all living things with kindness, loved his cat, Jordy, treated his friends like family, and loved his family dearly. He was also an avid sports fan of the Packers, Bucks, Brewers, Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks, and would always know the latest stat or special update. Those who knew Ben well could appreciate his quick wit and love of humor in his life.
The visitation will be at 12:00 noon and funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1024 Shawano Avenue, Green Bay. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Ed Baseman.
Online condolences may be made.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Marsha and Jerry Macuk, and Sister Stephanie Spence for all of their care and compassion for Ben during this time.
Also St. Mary’s 5th Floor, Unity Hospice & Edenbrook Nursing Center, and Dr. Elmer of Thedacare.
