Berdella “Berdie” Plouff, 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, February 27, 2017. She was born April 25, 1921 to William and Anna (Kaster) Fontaine in Green Bay, WI.
Berdie was a rare bird indeed, living life to the fullest, not afraid to tell everyone else how it should be done and documenting her adventures with fun, often inappropriate photos. She made those around her laugh and made sure they were always well fed. Berdie and the love of her life, Don “Tweety Bird” Plouff, lived in New Port Richey, Florida for the past 40 years until returning to Green Bay in 2014. They enjoyed helping and caring for other people in their community and working outdoors in an immaculate yard filled with flowers and fruit trees. Berdie was most proud of her beautiful orchids.
She was painfully preceded in death recently by her loving husband Don and only daughter Connie Hallada-LaBaw. Also passing before her are her parents Bill and Anna, and siblings Erma, Arnold, William Jr, and Fabian (Fibber), and the father of her children Joseph Hallada.
Berdella is survived by her sons Dan Hallada of Green Bay WI, Larry Hallada of Kenton, OH, a sister Bernadine Mallow and brother Anthony Fontaine, both of Wabeno, WI. She leaves behind grandchildren Michelle Kennedy of Las Vegas NV, Jon Hallada of Brown Deer, WI and Melissa Hallada of Shawano, WI, great granddaughters Anna Kennedy of Las Vegas, NV and Samantha Kennedy of Alamogordo, NM. Also a son-in-law Billy LaBaw of Smithville, MS. and sister-in-law Betty Lou Fontaine of Green Bay, as well as many nieces, nephews and step-children and step-grandchildren.
In lieu of a church service and flowers, her family invites close friends to join in a memorial and celebration of Berdie’s life at 11:30am on Saturday, March 4th at the Rite Place located at 1580 Bellevue St in Green Bay. Followed by lunch.
Sincere thanks to the staff at Grancare Nursing Center in Green Bay who made her smile and provided excellent care over the past 2 years.
