Bertan A. Schultz

October 29, 1950 — June 9, 2014

Bertan (Bert) Schultz passed away on June 9, 2014, after a long and courageous battle against kidney and cardiac disease. He was born Oct. 29, 1950, in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., the son of Arnold and Anna (Fagerstrom) Schultz however he was raised from infancy by Carl and Anna (Ohnesorge) Schultz. He married Kathleen Sampson on March 26, 1983.

Bert enjoyed golfing, hunting, reading and spending time with family and friends. Over the last 16 years Bert fought his health battles with a sense of humor, appreciation for all who cared for him and an unwavering faith in God's plan for his life. If you knew Bert you can be assured he was praying for God's blessings on your life.

Bert is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughters, Catie and Hanna; mother in-law, Lou Sampson; brothers in-law, Greg (Margaret) Sampson, James (Joey) Sampson, Christopher (Carolyn) Sampson, all of Green Bay. He is further survived by a sister, Sue (James) Jorns, Egg Harbor, Wis.; and nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; father in-law, Al Sampson; sister, Georgie Baumann.

The family would like to thank all who helped Bert on his long road, UW Hospital-Madison, Aurora Health Care, St. Vincent's Dialysis Center, Bay Area Nephrology, McCormick Home and the Jack and Engrid Meng Hospice residence staff. A special thank you to Kathy's employees at LifeStyle Health Systems and Interim HealthCare NE WI for their encouragement over these many years.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Monday, June 23, at Living Hope Church, Green Bay, with Pastors Don Olson and Jerry Bruette officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Unity Hospice.
