‘Buggs’, David Jon Bugni, 69, of Howard Wisconsin, passed away on August 10, 2023 surrounded by his wife and children.
Buggs was a lifelong resident of Green Bay, Wisconsin. He graduated from Premontre High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Carol Clarksen, on December 30, 1972. Buggs and Carol went on to build an amazing life together and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Buggs was full of life and the epitome of hard work. He was strong willed and stubborn, had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and brave. He never met a stranger and was never at a loss for words. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all of his life experiences and loved to share that knowledge with everyone. Buggs retired from Proctor and Gamble. The busy man he was, he went on to work for the Green Bay Area School District and the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay. He loved all of ‘his kids’ and enjoyed going to work with them every day. He was proud of his service to the community as a Volunteer Firefighter with the Howard Fire Department. He was a handy man; if Buggs couldn’t fix it, it was broken. Buggs was an avid wood worker and builder, building their family cabin where a lifetime of memories were created.
His legacy lives on through his wife Carol (Clarksen) Bugni, and their children; Ben (Martina Buss) Bugni, Stacey (Dan) Carpiaux, Amanda (Mark) Kuehn, Matt (Beth Trzebiatowski) Bugni and Tabitha (Frisch) Bugni. Buggs was blessed with 11 grandchildren, who called him Papa, and they were his pride and joy; Tyler, Emma, Addyson, Ella, Madelyn. Lucas, Ava, Jayden, Layla, Jackson and Asher.
The family would like to thank the physicians and nurses in the Critical Care Unit at St. Vincent’s Hospital and the Vascular and Cardiac team at Prevea Clinic for their compassionate care and heroic efforts. They'd also like to thank all of their family and friends for their support and prayers.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to honor Buggs’ memory. A memorial will be built in his honor.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 25th, which would have been his 70th birthday, at The Village of Howard Community Center at 2456 Glendale Avenue in Green Bay, Wisconsin, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. The family hopes to mingle with family and friends and share all of the amazing ways that Buggs touched their lives. A memorial tribute will be made by the family at 2:00 p.m.
