Candace "C.J.". Krause, (May 20, 1949-September 10, 2023)
Bookclubs, cats, Words with Friends, photography, travel and a host of wonderful friends and family. These were all important to our precious sister, Candace, who passed away September 10th at age 74.
After graduating with honors from the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh, Candace taught high school English for 2 year, followed by a decades long career at Brown County Mental Hospital. There, she was in charge of payroll.
Her many trips included one to Malahide, Ireland where she met special friend, Bill Hatch, leading to a life-long friendship.
Her intense love of animals led to her adoption of 5 special cats (her "fur babies") over the years. She also volunteered at the Green Bay Humane Society. Love of photography led her to winning several awards during the Shanty Day Festival in Algoma, where she grew up.
C.J. is survived by her three sisters, nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.
In spite of living with MS most of her life, C.J. let nothing slow her down and maintained an independent life. Anyone who met her could not help but to love her and she will be very much missed by all.
A memorial gathering will be held this Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Malcore (West) Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason Street, Green Bay, from 10am-12 noon.
