Carol E. “Carrie” Koerner, 90, Green Bay, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, April 3, 2018, at her home. Born March 28, 1928, in Birnamwood, WI, she is the daughter of the late Albert and Elsa Pagel. Carrie received her nursing degree from Madison General and served at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids and Lakeland Hospital in Elkhorn, WI. She married Noah “Bunk” Koerner, April 15, 1951, in Birnamwood. The couple started their careers in Houston, TX before moving to Eau Claire, WI to open the family pharmacy. They started their family while living in Eau Claire. Carrie will be remembered for her gift of music, her care and compassion, her love of travel, golf, and enjoying the company of friends and family.
Carrie is survived by her husband 67 years, Noah; children, Rebecca (Keith) Swanson, Green Bay, Robert (Claudia) Koerner, Rochester, MN, Kevin (Rob) Koerner, San Francisco, David (Connie) Koerner, Green Bay; grandchildren, Kaitlin (Dan) Brice, Gregory (Fawn Giese) Swanson, Paul and Mark Koerner, Rachel and Bethany Koerner; and a great-grandson, Ben Brice.
She is preceded in death by sister, LaVon.
Private family services will be held at a future date with Simply Cremation serving the family.
