Charles Van Sr.

June 29, 1937 — November 19, 2014

Charles (Charlie) Edward Van Sr., 77, of Amberg, Wisconsin passed Wednesday, November 19, 2014 after a long battle with Chronic Heart Failure (CHF). Charlie was a retired Logger of the North woods for 35 years. He also worked at the Milwaukee Forge for many years before settling up north. Charlie enjoyed being surrounded by the wilderness; be it tracking and hunting wild game, like the white-tail deer, or hiking miles thru the brush to find a premium fishing hole to hook that perfect trout. His other passion was to tinker with all things mechanical. If he didn’t have what he needed, he would try to build it from what he could salvage from previous endeavors. But what truly made Charlie’s eyes sparkle was the sight of his family and friends. He was always willing to help friends and family with anything they needed. Charlie will be greatly missed by anyone who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Laura (Senn) Van, and his children: Charlene (Pat) Russ, Charles (Katie) Van Jr., Norton (Lisa) Van, Jeannette Van, Janet Van; his grandchildren: Rachel, Calvin, Brittini, Amelia, Olivia, Melissa, Scott, Regina; great grandchildren: Eliana, Eliseo; and his sisters; Evelyn (Gary) Beaupre, Gloria (Dave) Schumacher, as well as many nieces and nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kale and Francis Van.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 11:00 AM, St. Agnes Catholic Church, Amberg, WI with a potluck luncheon to follow.
