Cora A. Modlin, 81, of Norway, Michigan passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Cora was born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 14, 1943 to parents William and Ruth (nee Sturm) Tennison. She grew up in West Virginia and Michigan, graduating from Clare High School in Clare, Michigan. She attended Central Michigan University, and later in life, Bay de Noc College, with a degree in nursing. Cora worked for many years as a Registered Nurse, first at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, then at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain, Michigan. Her love of nursing was very dear to her heart, and she was awarded for her excellence over the years. She was an animal lover, and doted on her numerous dogs and cats all throughout her life. Cora was a devoted mother and grandmother and cherished her time with her loved ones.
Cora is survived by her son, Doug Modlin of Norway; daughter, Patricia Omer of Chattanooga, Tennessee; son-in-law, Mo Tarchoun; grandchildren, Zaina, Zach, and Noah Omer, and Owen and Oliver Tarchoun; and cousin Becky Jessel.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charlie Modlin; brother William "Bud" Tennison; and daughter Susan Tarchoun.
Services will be announced at a later date. Tributes to Cora may be made by donations to the Almost Home Animal Shelter in Iron Mountain, Michigan.
