Daniel Depner

Daniel N. Depner, 77, passed away peacefully on September 26,2024, surrounded by his loved ones after a long, courageous fight of 19 years with prostate cancer. He was born July 2nd, 1947, to the late Norman and Beata (Radtke) Depner. On November 1, 1985, Dan was united in marriage to Linda M. Huss in Green Bay, Wi. 

Dan was a graduate of Appleton High School class of 1966. He served in the United States Army for 2 years in Vietnam. Dan worked at Miller Electric in Appleton as a machinist for 39 years until his retirement in 2011.

The oldest of 6 boys, Dan was a devoted son and big brother. His hobbies included shooting darts, collecting movies, records and books, and Sunday football cheering on the Green Bay Packers. 

Dan is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Linda (Huss) Depner; 6 beautiful daughters, Dee Depner, Doreen Depner, Darcy Powell, Danielle (Mike) Pawlowski, Anna (Jake) Coenen, Christie (Marissa) Depner; and his special son, William Depner; one brother Gary (Judy) Depner and sister-in-law, Liz Depner.

He is further survived by 18 grandchildren: Jeremiah Depner, Nathan Depner, John Ropella, Daniel Depner, Stephanie Depner, Amber Kaufman, Jasmyn (Rylan) Reoh, Dominick, Jennifer, and Timothy Powell Jr., Bradley (Abby) Pawlowski, Calvin Pawlowski, Andrew and Johnathan Pawlowski, Riley Coenen, Brendon Walsh, Hazel and Everett Tuma; along with 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Beata; brothers: Richard, Randy, Brian, and Chris; In laws Lloyd and Phley Huss; and granddaughter Reyalyn Weishoff.

A celebration of life for Dan will be held on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, at his family home in Shiocton beginning at 1:00 pm, with Military honors at 3:00 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. 

Dan’s family would like to extend a special thank you to DJ, Dusty, Leah and Courtney of Ascension Compassus Hospice for their tender care and support during the end of his battle.
