David Nolan Bairstow, 87, Denmark, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2015, at Scandinavian Court Assisted Living, Denmark, with his daughter at his side. David was born on April 2, 1928, in Waukegan, IL, the son of the late Jack and Leslie (Nolan) Bairstow. A beloved father, husband, grandfather and friend. David was a veteran of the Korean War. He loved his Irish heritage. David was an avid cribbage player.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter and son-in-law, Susan (Richard) Kornely, Maribel; two granddaughters, Erin Kornely, Green Bay and Allison Kornely, Oshkosh.
He was predeceased by his wife of 31 years, Lois Mae Law in July of 1980 and his second wife of 25 years, Luberta Bessie Ballard in August 2008; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. Bruce (Claire) Bairstow, Concord, NH and twin brother, Donald (Donna) Bairstow, Waukegan, IL.
David's wishes were for no visitation or funeral.
The family would like to thank the staff of Scandinavian Court Assisted Living for their care and support of David. They were like family to him. Thank you also to Unity Hospice for their care.
