David J. Miller of Shiocton, WI and Floral City, FL passed away peacefully on November 10, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Gillett, WI on May 6, 1947, to Fred and Sylvia (Boettcher) Miller.
After high school graduation, he joined the army and spent two tours in Vietnam (1968-69). After returning from Vietnam, he eventually found his long-time career in the trucking industry. He was employed by WH Transportation as an OTR driver for many years. David loved many wonderful hobbies that included fly fishing, woodworking, and hunting. He always had a love of motorcycles and was finally able to enjoy his retirement riding his first Harley Davidson motorcycle. David was an ABATE member and found many new sisters and brothers through his beloved biker family.
David is survived by his loving wife Cathleen (Krause) Miller; brother Deloue “Buck” Miller; sister Madeline Talmadge; son Trent (Michelle) Miller; son David “Scott” (Melinda) Miller; step-daughter Angela (Josh) Marquardt; step-son Eric (Ashley) Gast; grandson Tristan Miller; granddaughter Myah Miller; step-granddaughters Angelina Mangless and Ava Gast; step-grandson Cahdyn Baker; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Deborah Miller (Fredenberg); second wife June Miller (Zastrow); sister Marge (Leonard) Giese; sister Betsy McDermot; and sister-in-law Virginia Miller.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the VA hospitals in Wisconsin and Florida, as well as the team at Appleton Medical Center for dedication to his treatments of various health issues. He spoke highly about how great he was being cared for by everyone involved. A “Celebration of Life” with a military salute in honor of David will be held at a later date in 2021.
