Debra L. Kadon, 68, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020. She was born June 7, 1951, to the late Edward and Regina (Bagnell) Kadon, Illinois.
Debbie relocated to Wisconsin in 1974 to begin her 37 1/2 year teaching career at Franklin Middle School in Green Bay. Though she could be tough in the classroom, Debbie was well liked and respected. She created a safe learning environment with her patience, kindness and acceptance. Debbie had a special gift of instilling confidence in her students, allowing them to see and reach their full potential. She taught lessons beyond what could be found in textbooks, impacting the lives’ of her students long after leaving her classroom.
Debbie was active in the national, state and local education associations. She served on the executive boards of WEAC (Wisconsin Education Association Committee) and GBEA (Green Bay Education Association), numerous legislative committees, and worked tirelessly registering voters through the Coalition of Voting organizations of Brown County.
While her accomplishments are impressive, Debbie’s loyalty, cheerfulness, and unconditional love are what touched the hearts of so many. To call her a friend was an honor. Debbie’s strength and courage will continue to inspire us.
Debbie is survived by sisters: Vicki Wright (Geoff) and Eileen Kadon, Nephews: Christopher Wright (Allison) and David Wright (Jamie), Great Nephews: Oliver and Emmett, Great Niece: Birdie, Goddaughter: Traci Tadych, Godson: Ryan Tadych, and her two beloved dogs River and Rainne.
A celebration of life to be held at a future date.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Unity Hospice for their compassionate care.
