Donald “Don” Lewis, 85, Oconto, passed away early Sunday morning, Jan. 7, 2018, at an Oconto nursing home. Born May 3, 1932, in Whittier, CA, he is the son of the late H. B. and Helen (Crawford) Lewis. Don served in the US Navy where he was trained in electronics. Upon returning from the service, he joined the family business, Lewis Nursery in California, which was famous for their azaleas. Don met Karin Conover while posting on each other’s online bulletin boards. Soon the couple met and were married in Irvin, CA in Dec. of 1991. The couple lived in numerous states and locations including on a sailboat for four years. The couple had owned and managed a number of rental properties in Long Beach, CA eventually settling in Lena, WI. In the Green Bay area, they ran Ivory Bridge Productions, promoting classic rock and some jazz concerts. In Don’s retirement, the couple enjoyed sailing, fishing, and attending theater and concerts.
Don is survived by his wife of 26 years, Karin; sister, Linda Martonik, Florence, OR; niece, Heather Martonik-Graff, Irvine, CA; and grand-niece, Tristan Martonik, Montpelier, VT.
