Donne was a generous and loving person who could easily make friends. He lived true to his CB handle name, “GB Sportsman”, and appreciated the beauty of this earth through hunting, fishing, and watching birds. He loved working in the soil and “living off the land” by bartering his garden goods and wood products, his specialties being delicious booyah, home-grown horseradish, venison jerky, as well as wooden outdoor furniture and birdhouses. Favorite things were the happy face symbol ☺, his 1978 Chev Suburban, and making people smile. Donne served his country happily and honorably in the US Army Reserves. He believed in working hard and combined his fulltime job as a building maintenance supervisor for the GB Police Dept with various part time jobs, allowing him to thoroughly enjoy retirement at both his Green Bay residence and cottage in Sturgeon Bay.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Stacy Mahlik, his parents, grandparents Paul J & Catherine Mahlik and Elmer & Christine Johnson, brother Lee Mahlik, brother-in-law Jack Koeppler, and sister-in-law Arlene Mahlik.
At Donne’s request, a private service will be held at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
Donne wishes to thank Unity Hospice (Nicki & Melissa) and all his family and friends who were with him through good times and bad times.
“Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that is how I will remember you.”
