Dorothy E. Netz

Crivitz/Milwaukee – Dorothy “Dottie” Netz went to her heavenly glory April 19, 2025 at the age of 92. She spent Easter singing with the heavenly choir. She was born in Milwaukee, WI to Fred and Alice Evelyn (Knudsen) Thiele. She married Eugene E. Netz and had three sons, Tim (Debbie), Fred (Patrice), and Chris (Deb) Netz. She is further survived by her sister Betty McClure Wible, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was truly a lady of grace. She carried herself with elegance, dressed smartly, spoke with a quiet voice, and had a smile for all she met. She attended business college and worked as a legal secretary, in family and immigration law, well into her 80s. Dottie had many loves: her family first and foremost, reading and the library, she was an excellent cook and hostess, sewing, bicycling and line dancing (in the day), her churches, and the Cedarburg/Grafton area. Her greatest passion was music and singing.

In her late teens she started voice instruction and took lessons at the Milwaukee Conservatory of Music as well as privately. She sang and performed with the Milw. Choristers and The Romney Singers. Dorothy sang with her church’s choirs her whole life and did many solo performances. She graced many weddings, funerals, celebrations, and family gatherings with her beautiful voice.

A memorial gathering will take place at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, WI N60 W6047 Columbia Rd, on May 17th, 2025 with visitation at 1:00 until time of service at 2:00. A cake and ice cream reception will be held following the service. All are invited to join. Christian burial will be at Zur Ruhe Cemetery also in Cedarburg. Simply Cremation, Green Bay has been serving the family. Special thanks to New Care, Crivitz for their special care over these past years.
