Edward “Ed” Derengowski, 77, passed away September 5th at home after a long battle with kidney disease.
Born March 15, 1947 to Edward and Emily (Brzezinski) in Milwaukee Wisconsin. He graduated from St. Johns Cathedral High School in 1965. After high school he enlisted in the Navy Reserve, He served for 6 years, some of the time on the USS Waller. He married Karen (Schoenecker) on May 20, 1967. Together they celebrated 57 years of love and family.
Ed had many careers. Starting as a maintenance electrician and ended before his retirement as an electrical engineer. He was proud of being an engineer without earning a college degree. Ed retired in 2012 and started a woodworking hobby. His workshop was his favorite place. He has made furniture, pens and beautiful turned bowls.
Ed was proud of his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Karen, two daughters Lori (Andy), Meg (Larry) and his son Andy (Donna). His grandchildren Tony (Bonna), Alex, Allison (Ross) and Alexa (Alysha). His dog Pippin and his bird Mikey.
He is further survived by four brothers Eugene, Donald (Jean), Richard (Siew Leng Lim) Jim.
The family thanks Unity for their care for Ed.
There will be a family gathering to celebrate Ed’s life at a later date.
