Eli Ronald Skenandore , age 82 years, went home to be with our Lord on November 7, 2021. Ron, as most know him by, was born to Walter and Eva (Metoxen) Skenandore on July 27, 1939 in Oneida WI.
Ron grew up on the Oneida Reservation helping with the family farm and in his teens worked as a caddy at the golf course. He played football for Green Bay East High School remembering that their team shared the locker room with the Packers football team. He went to Milwaukee where he met and married Carol (Jeffrey) Skenandore and started their family before moving permanently to the Menominee Reservation. Ron drove stock car, fishing, motorcycling and snowmobiling with his wife, and an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
A bricklayer by trade, Ron and his crews built many of the homes and business buildings on the Oneida and Menominee reservations and throughout Wisconsin. Ron was a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman Local 8 Union, Milwaukee, for many years. Always busy with snow plowing, cutting wood and operating a fireworks business with his wife Carol.
Ron is survived by a son William Skenandore, Green Bay, daughters; Rene (Mike) Korth, Shawano, and Ronda Skenandore, Oshkosh; daughter-in-law, Kelli Skenandore, Shioctin, sisters; Ruth Wagner, Oneida, Marjorie Funmaker Oneida, and Eva Eleanor Doxtator, Oneida. Ron is further survived by 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; sisterinlaws, Sara (Terry) Mann, Theresa Stahl, Clara Dixon; brotherinlaw, Pete Montez; many nephews, nieces and friends.
Ron is preceeded in death by his wife of 64 years, Carol Skenandore, son's; Daniel and Samuel Skenandore and grandaughter, Christine Skenandore; parents, Walter and Eva (Metoxen) Skenandore; brothers; Lawrence Skenandore, Norman Skenandore, James Skenandore, Joshua Ellsworth Skenandore, sister's; Thelma Kaiser, Alice Ninham, Martha King, and Emily Skenandore; brotherinlaw, John Stahl; and sisterinlaw, Genevive Montez.
We would especially like to thank Melissa White, Brian Helsinger and son's, Rhonda Tucker, and the staff at Anna John Nursing Home in Oneida for their kind and compassionate care of our dad during his time of need. God bless you.
