Ellen Ruth Brennan lived 87 years serving Jesus and her family! She was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on May 11, 1936, to Reverend R.C. and Irene Gehl. She graduated from Appleton West High School and attended St. Paul Bible College in Minnesota to study music and graduated with her BA in 1961. She moved back to Appleton and met the love of her life, Ken. They got married in 1963, moved to Green Bay and had 3 children. She loved being a wife, a mother and grandmother. She would cook incredible meals and amazing desserts and could sew anything that needed to be fixed. She taught piano lessons and worked at Jane’s Hallmark in Green Bay. She served at Central Church in Green Bay teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and playing the piano. She used her talents to serve with Ken by playing and singing at nursing homes and senior living facilities. She moved to an assisted living facility 10 months ago and passed away Monday, September 25, 2023, after a short illness.
She is survived by her husband Ken of 60 years; her children Luanne (Tom) Webber, Gerald Brennan, and Lynnette Brennan; grandchildren; and great grandchildren; her sister, Nathalie Rindt; sister-in-laws Lois Cox, Jillene Noonan and Mary Lou Paul and many nephews and nieces. She will be missed by her family, friends, and neighbors.
Services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Central Church, 831 Schoen Street, Green Bay. Visitation will be at 9:30; service at 11 with a luncheon to follow. Inurnment will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park.
