Elvin Dale Pinkston, known as "Dale" to his family and friends, passed away peacefully on December 12th, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on August 26, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, Dale was the beloved son of Dale and Elma Pinkston.
Dale attended the University of Minnesota, where he met the love of his life, Karen Cummings. Together, they built a life of love and partnership that spanned more than 61 years, as they were about to celebrate their 62nd wedding anniversary next month. Their bond was a testament to the strength of their devotion and the life they shared.
Throughout his life, Dale was deeply involved in his community, offering his time and energy to numerous organizations. He was a dedicated member of the 4-H, Little Suamico Recreation Club, and the Masonic Lodge. Dale’s love for the outdoors was evident in his passions for hunting, fishing, and cross-country skiing, activities that brought him joy and connected him with friends and family.
Dale’s professional career began with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad in St. Paul, Minnesota, and Green Bay, Wisconsin, before he transitioned into a fulfilling role as a financial planner, where he helped many individuals plan for their futures.
Dale is survived by his loving wife Karen Pinkston; his children, John (Jean) Pinkston, Paul Pinkston, and Jennifer (Thomas) Folk; and his cherished grandchildren, Eric (Kortney) Pinkston, Colin Nelson-Pinkston, Sarah Pinkston, Abby Pinkston, Jason Folk, and Wesley Folk. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Elma Pinkston, and his two sisters, Carol Hunter and Patricia Osborne.
While no formal services are planned at this time, the family asks for your thoughts and prayers as they honor Dale’s life and the memories they shared with him.
Dale’s legacy of love, dedication, and service to others will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.
