Erwin Phillip (Phil) Husting, age 77, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on
March 12, 2020. He was born on June 19, 1942 in Milwaukee to Arthur & Rosalie (Gantner) Husting. Phil married the love of his life, Mabelle A. Crandall, in West Allis on July 24, 1965 and soon afterward moved to New Berlin.
He spent most of his adult life working for the railroad. First with the Milwaukee Road, which became the Soo Line. When the Soo Line was acquired by Canadian National, they moved to Blaine, Minnesota. Despite living in Viking territory for over 30 years, they remained avid and loyal Packer fans. Phil also enjoyed carpentry/woodworking, traveling, target shooting, watching Westerns and Indy car races, and spending time with family and friends.
Phil was preceded in death by Mabelle, his parents, his in-laws Franklin & Laura (Hess)
Crandall, sisters-in-law Patricia Crandall & Sandra Kirk, and brother-in-law Charles Shreves.
After losing his wife of 52 years, Phil moved to Green Bay to live with his daughter. He is
survived by his daughter Laura (Richard) Klug, granddaughter Alyssa (Robert Irion) of Green Bay, brother Paul (Sue) Husting of TX, brother-in-law Franklin Crandall of Montello, WI, sisters-in-law Jacqueline Shreves of WA and Lee Paul of IL, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service with family and friends will be held for Phil at a later time, when he will be interred at Lake Church Cemetery, Belgium, WI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on his behalf to Unity Hospice.
The family would like to thank the staff of Unity Hospice & Woodside Manor for their
wonderful care of Phil in his final weeks.
