Floyd Watkins of Appleton, passed away peacefully in the early hours October 15, 2024 at Edenbrook of Green Bay at the age of 76.
Floyd was born March 27, 1948 in New London, son of the late Floyd (Red) Watkins II (Barb) and Charlotte Beyer.
He attended Appleton High School and enlisted in the United States Marines in 1966. He bravely voluntarily served our country in Vietnam for four terms in the 5th Amphibian Tractor Battalion, 5th Marine Division.
Floyd's last employer before retirement was Kimberly Clark Neenah Paper where he worked for 21 years.
He had a hidden talent of being an amazing artist, he enjoyed art prints, antiques, camping with family in his younger years, auctions, watching NASCAR and the Packers, and he was always up for a great meal out with friends or family. He was an amazing Father and always loved a good laugh. He also loved spending time with his Niece/Goddaughter and her family. Jonna, Brian, Jessie (also his Goddaughter) and David Peotter always held a special place in his heart and they were always there for him.
Floyd is survived by his children, Adam Watkins of Texas and Andrea (Jason) Stevens of Kaukauna. His two stepchildren, Ross Fonder of Menasha and Shawn (Alisha) Fonder of California. He was further survived by his sister Candy Watkins of Appleton and his grandchildren, Tayler, Ashlyn, Camden, Josie and Kalea Fonder, Braylen and Brielle Fonder, Alexis and Shelby Stevens.
He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd (Red) Watkins II and Charlotte Beyer, and by his siblings, Charles (Janet) Graebel, Pam (John) Rueckert, and Scott (Lisa) Watkins.
His family would like to extend a special thank you to Unity Hospice and the staff of Edenbrook Green Bay, especially Ann, the activity director who was so good to him and had a special place in his heart.
