Frances Paula Cohler went peacefully to her home with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 19, 2015 after a five-year battle with cancer.
Fran was born on April 1, 1952 to Francis "Frank" and Grace McNamara, New Richmond. She married Richard Cohler on Aug. 10, 1974 and is mother to Ryan (Kate) Cohler, Chicago, and Meredith (Mark) Walton, San Diego, Calif. She is grandmother to Cameron and Oliver Cohler and Luther Walton.
Fran gave the gift of music to hundreds of children and adults over her long career as a piano teacher. She served her Lord as a pianist at New Hope Orthodox Presbyterian Church and enjoyed being part of the Gospel group "600 Pounds of Heavenly Joy" which shared the saving love of Christ with audiences around the state.
Fran is also survived by her mother, Grace McNamara, New Richmond, sisters: Maureen McNamara, Austin, Texas; Susan McNamara, Madison; Barbara (Dave) Grevich, New Richmond; Ann McNamara and Patricia McNamara, Asheville, N.C.; and Eileen (Fred) Bezat, Eden Prairie, Minn.; mother-in-law Grace Cohler, Marshfield; and sister-in-law Yvonne (Marvin) Starr, Germantown. She was preceded in death by her father, Francis.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 23 at New Hope Presbyterian Church, 2401 Deckner Ave., Green Bay, with a time of remembrance at 11 a.m. followed by services at noon, Pastor Jim Ferguson officiating.
