George Campbell Lucia, 81, peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 19th, 2024.
George was born on September 15th, 1942, to the late Carroll and Madge (Campbell) Lucia in South Bend, Indiana. After his parents relocated to the Northeast Wisconsin area, George graduated from De Pere High School in 1961. He served in the Air Force from 1962-1966 at Chanute AFB, Illinois. His career featured work in several area machine shops, Carver Boat, and a few self-employment ventures. He recently came out of retirement to join the team at American Custom Metal Fabrication.
In his free time George pursued his political interests, enjoyed the camaraderie of the Green Bay Area Retired Men's Club and Green Bay Moose Lodge, dabbled in automobile restoration, and cheered on the Packers. He appreciated a good meal with good conversation and proudly attended his grandchildren's many events and activities.
George is survived by his three children: Erik (Cyndi) Lucia of Luxemburg, Lauren (David) Oldenburg of Green Bay, and Tamra (Karl Nelson) Lucia of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, along with grandchildren William Hallum, Harry Hallum, Graham Oldenburg, and Nigel Oldenburg. He is further survived by his sister, K Lucia of Madison, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Michele Philips, daughter Diana Hallum, and granddaughter Amanda Hallum.
The family would like to particularly thank the staff at Unity Hospice, the palliative team at Bellin Hospital, Jason at Rennes Rehab Center, and Stevie at the Bellin Cancer Center, who offered him comfort, wisdom, and care in his final weeks.
Friends and family are welcome to call at Nicolet Memorial Gardens Mausoleum on Thursday, May 30th from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. A brief service of remembrance will immediately follow. A private interment will take place at a future date.
