Gerald Lee (Bear) Larson, 81, passed away peacefully at Saint Vincent’s hospital in Green Bay, WI on April 23, 2024. He was born and raised in Phelps, WI on August 4, 1942, to parents Harold and Mildred Larson.
He spent his life in Phelps as a carpenter and plumber. He was extremely proud of the numerous homes he crafted over the years. While fishing on area lakes, he would frequently point out that he built that home with pride. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved dogs and was truly at home in the woods. One of his passions was teaching younger kids how to hunt and fish. Bear was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. His kindness and compassion were never ending. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Laura (Mark) Mills, Kenneth (Debra) Musial, Brian Musial, Joey (Erin) Cassello; sister Donna (Melvin) Poyzer, Linda (John) Sparks; six grandchildren, three great- grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many close friends who he considered family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Melvin Larson and sister Rita (Riihimaki).
A memorial service for Gerald will be held at the Pentecostal Church of God in Alvin, WI on May 4, 2024. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10 a.m. until the funeral begins at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow at the Alvin Town Hall.
