Gerald Zimdars

December 20, 1956 — September 15, 2024

Gerald Francis Zimdars, age 67, of Green Bay, WI, passed away on September 15, after a couragous battle with cancer.
Jerry was born on December 20, 1956, to Alvin and Mary Zimdars in Leopolis, WI, where he grew up and worked on the family farm, attended Leopolis grade school, and graduated from Marion High School in 1975. Jerry was a man of many talents, but found his true passion in sales and was excellent at doing so. Jerry worked at ABS for 37 years and also raised many cattle of his own.

Jerry has two children, Matthew Zimdars and Erin Zimdars, who were his world. He enjoyed doing many things with them and his grandchildren, including fishing, hunting, tapping trees, staying up at the lodge, being a helping hand and teacher when in need. Jerry also enjoyed spending time with his long-term girlfriend, Ann Sislo, especially with her family in Superior, WI. Ann was Jerry’s pride and joy, and he was so very grateful for her.

Jerry was the kind of person that could never sit still and was always looking for something new to do. He enjoyed cutting wood, tractor work, planting trees with his son, playing sheepshead and Texas Hold’em with family and friends, thinking up with new inventions, going for car rides, and even writing and publishing his book, “Short Stories of Tom and Jerry.”

Jerry was preceded to heaven by his parents, Alvin and Mary Zimdars, and his brother, Ronald Zimdars. He is survived by his son, Matthew (Ashley) Zimdars, and daughter Erin Zimdars (Nick); the mother of his children Lynne Zimdars; 5 grandchildren: Emersyn, Clayton, Jack, and August Zimdars and Everett Klaus; siblings Mike Zimdars (Kathy), Charlotte (Tom) Brandenburg, Chuck (Peggy) Zimdars, Janet (Dave) Carpenter, his twin brother Tom (Karla) Zimdars, and Joan (Mitch) Kalota; long-term girlfriend, Ann Sislo, and her grandson, Mason.

Jerry was a deeply beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He will be missed by all. While we grieve the loss of Jerry, don’t forget that Jerry was a jokester, and his goal was to always get others to laugh (if he could make it through without laughing himself). He would like you to remember all the good times and share all of your memories of him. He would like you to laugh, reminisce, and smile together in this time.

The family would like to extend an extra thank you to all the compassionate care and love provided by family and friends, especially girlfriend Ann, twin brother Tom, Country Villa Pulaski and St. Croix Hospice.

Services will be held on Saturday September 21 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on W11842 3rd Street in Leopolis, WI. Family and friends may join beginning 10:00 am. Mass at 11:00 am with lunch to follow.
