Geraldene D. Betzinger

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our mother, Geraldene "Gerry" Betzinger on November 24, 2024 at the age of 90. We take comfort in knowing that one day we shall be reunited, and in the meantime, we all carry her spirit in our hearts. 

Gerry was married to Alex Betzinger for 67 years until his passing in 2019. With quiet strength, unconditional love, and humor, she shepherded 8 children to adulthood (despite some of our best efforts to the contrary). Those children being: Darlene (Mike) Schoen, Eileen (David) Clark, Christine (Jeff) Wilson, Daniel (Gloria) Betzinger, Valerie (Dan) Bunnell, Nancy Betzinger, John Betzinger, and Lori (Ollie) Perkins. Gerry was a proud grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. 

Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, Alex; her son, Daniel; her parents, John and Myrtle Kiefer; her in-laws, Alex and Josephine Betzinger; 3 of her sisters, Evelyn, Georgene, and Alice; her grandson, Scott Schoen; and many members of her extended family. 

Visitation begins at 9:30am until time of Mass at 11:00am, with a lunch to follow, on Saturday December 28th, 2024, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church located at 936 Ninth St. Green Bay, WI 54304. 

Our family would like to thank the staff of St. Vincent Hospital and Astor Terrace/Oddfellow Rehabilitation for their professional and compassionate care of our mother during her last weeks in this world. 

While our grief is very much raw and incredibly painful, there is solace in knowing she slipped peacefully into her eternal rest and now waits for each of us to join her when our times come.
