Harold "Hal" Goodman

January 14, 1956 — November 22, 2024

It is with heavy heart that we announce the untimely and much too young passing of our dearest Harold (Hal)Goodman, 11/22/24.

Husband, best friend in endless adventures & Dawn’s zany partner in absurd video sketches. Favorite brother-in-law to Debbie, Carmen, and Britt. Dearest brother to Ed, Edith, Sandra, Dan and Gordon. Funnest uncle to Shana (Brad), Talya (Lorenzo), Duncan, Dionna, and Arnie. Adoring uncle to Morgan and Severin.

Born in Milwaukee, WI on January 14, 1956 to Loraine (Daniels) and David Goodman. Hal graduated from Marshal High School. He went on to earn his undergraduate BA in Sociology from University Wisconsin Madison and his MBA in Cost Accounting from the University of Arkansas.

He worked various jobs over the years, including at GB Electrical (later Applied Power); Vapor Blast; Animax (Sanimax); and Overland Solutions.

He was a longtime member of the Bay Shore Bicycle Club of Green Bay, with whom he rode innumerable bike rides, kayaked, snow-shoed and hiked. Lifelong, dear friendships were made. Many thanks to all who put together Meal Trains and visited during Hal’s battles with cancer and other illnesses. And thank you for always encouraging him to continue and take part in activities to stay fit.

He lived at the Schreiner House Co-op while attending UW Madison and maintained lifelong friendships with many of the guys from there, recently attending a reunion with many of them during the recent Homecoming weekend. Thanks to his roommates Mark and Tom for visiting him recently and the supportive messages and calls many sent these last few days of his life.

Hal and Dawn took part in many community activities: working many of the Cellcom Marathon Gu Gel Stations with the Bay Shore Bike Club; Corner Marshaling for the Bellin Run and Women’s Half Marathon; running a Water Station for the SAGBRAW bike ride in their front yard; and working various local political campaigns for the Democrats (Hal’s favorite was Russ Feingold).

Hal was so many things to so many people. We will explore this more with a Celebration of Life in fall 2025. We look forward to you all coming to share your stories at that time.

We end with this perfect thought from one of his longtime friends, Sue Kurovsky, who Hal worked with on a West Allis Cable TV comedy show: “The Angels just added a top performer to their comedy team today.”
