Helen Elizabeth Peerenboom, 87, Green Bay, passed away Friday evening, Sept. 28, 2018, at Bornemann Nursing Home. Born Oct. 13, 1930, in Tuttle, North Dakota, she is the daughter of the late William and Leona (Weisenberger) Sheffer. Her family moved to Cooperstown, WI when she was about 5 years old. Helen worked at Devily’s Bait Shop for many years. In 1951 she married Joseph Peerenboom, who preceded her in death on May 23, 2007.
Helen enjoyed dancing the polka at Hallets Bar on Main Street in Green bay. She also enjoyed playing bingo, doing word search puzzles and of course watching Dr. Phil. Helen especially loved children and visits from her great-grandchildren.
Helen is survived by one son, Joseph Peerenboom; one daughter, Marilyn Peerenboom; one grandson, Brian Peerenboom and three granddaughters, Sara Peerenboom, Melanie (Jeremy) Thyes and Christine Peerenboom; and four great-grandchildren, Cody, Austin, Josephine and JJ, all of Green Bay. She is further survived by a brother, Richard Sheffer; a sister, Crystal Ann Hellenbrand; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Helen was also preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
In keeping with Helen’s wishes, there will be no formal service.
