James Douglas Bockin

September 12, 1950 — September 9, 2015

James (Jim) Bockin passed away, September 9th, 2015, after a courageous 12 year battle with cancer. He was born September 12, 1950, in Appleton, Wisconsin to Wayne and Vera Bockin. Jim Graduated from Green Bay East High school class of 1969. He started his career at American Can Papermill (James River Corp) and years later became a Millwright. In Jim’s early working years he was also an Independent Fencing Contractor with his brother-in-law, Dave Nelson. It was not unusual for Jim to put up fencing in the morning before his afternoon shift at the mill, he always made sure his family had what they needed. During Jim’s final months he looked forward to his Saturday trips with his son and brother, Ron to the “Coffee House” to visit his good friends and try his luck on his favorite machine.

Jim is survived by his son, Tim Bockin; his daughter Amy (Craig) Dorner; and five grandchildren, Brennan and Brett Bockin, Ashlynn, Cailey and Kiera Dorner. Jim is also survived by four brothers and one sister, Lauren (Sandy) Bockin, Karen (Mike) Tilly, Russell (Sarah) Bockin, Ronald Bockin, and Terry (Cathy) Besaw; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Wayne; mother, Vera Besaw (Bockin); step-father Terrance Besaw; one niece, Cheryl Bockin; and nephew, Stephen Bockin.

A private family funeral will be held at a later date. Simply Cremation is caring for the family.

The family would like to thank Unity Hospice for their care. His children also want to thank his wonderful brother, Ron and amazing sister, Karen for their dedication helping us make sure our dad and your brother was as comfortable and happy as possible. And a special thank you to the staff at Care for All Ages who made dad's last few months more enjoyable, you girls had a special place in his heart.
