James (Butch) Medd, of Green Bay, entered into God’s Kingdom on August 28, 2024 at the age of 72. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years demonstrated his courage in facing life challenges with humor and a smile. Despite the pain, Jim came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
Jim met the love of his life and his best friend, Tracy, at the age of 8. He kept his eye on her and eventually, Tracy became his high school sweetheart and then his devoted wife of 52 years. He was the proud papa to their two girls: Angela and Amy. He loved his girls deeply. He took good care of them and loved being together above all else. As his girls got married, Jim’s unconditional love extended to their husbands and his grandchildren.
He enjoyed camping and sharing his love of fishing with his grandchildren on the lakes of northern Wisconsin. He was a master gunsmith who took pride in building, refining, and shooting his .22 rimfire rifles with a keen eye on precision. He loved good music, especially music from the 60’s and 70’s. He often had his favorite tunes playing through the house.
Jim was a man of high integrity and perseverance. His tenacity was unmatched. He was determined to find a solution to any problem that presented itself. He used his mechanical and analytical mind to fix or improve anything, especially if it had an engine. Jim was generous and many were blessed through his giving. His sense of humor was present until his last day and he strived to bring joy to those around him.
Jim is remembered by his beloved wife, Tracy, his daughter Angela & Scott Paulson of Minnesota, his daughter Amy & André Pagán of Wisconsin and grandchildren Jaelyn and Xander Paulson, his siblings William & Jeannie Medd, Tina & Patrick Brant, Kathleen & Tom Largo, and Curtis Medd.
In passing, Jim joins his mother, Jeannie Pennington and her husband Charles, and his grandparents: Wayne & Helen Medd and Oscar & Jennie Flagstad.
