James Alfred Schuettpelz

March 9, 1944 — January 4, 2016

James A. "Concrete Cowboy" Schuettpelz, 71, Green Bay, left this world on January 4, 2016, for his eternal horseback ride in heaven with the Lord. He was born March 9, 1944, to Lester and Clara (Runge) Schuettpelz. Jim attended Gillett High School and graduated in 1962. He served his country in the U.S. Army from June 1965 to June 1967 with the 97th Eng. Co. D in Korea. Jim was a member of the American Legion Post 523 Machickanee, WI for more than 25 years. During his time as Post Commander, his leadership and devotion to the American Legion was unmatched. Jim worked at Schuster and then at Arrow Concrete until his retirement.

He enjoyed polka music and cooking. Jim will be remembered for his love of horses and all things Country Western. It was through his love of horses that he became active with the Machickanee Riders and rode in countless parades with the club. Jim was also proud of being a one-gallon blood donor.

Jim is survived by his children, David, Angela (Troy Wilson), Lori, Daniel (Misty Erdman); grandchildren, Tyler, Alexus, Kolin, Amber; brothers, Bruce (Sharon), Frank; sisters, Diane (Daryl) Knox, Kathy Hirvela, Sherry (Duane) Weise; eight nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his horse, Travis.
