James A Wicker, 89 of Pound, WI passed away Nov 16, 2023 at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Oconto Falls.
Jim enjoyed spending time with family and his wife of 69 years Barbara Wicker. He loved the outdoors and putting jigsaw puzzles together. He will lovingly be missed by his family and his church family where he did a lot for his church community. Jim loved martinis and a good bowl of popcorn. His favorite holiday was Christmas and love to decorate and set up his huge village for which he was very proud of. Jim loved his pets the late Ernie and late Molly. He would take them for walks everyday and truly enjoyed his time with them.
Jim was born in Green Bay, WI on July 3, 1934 to the late Irene and James Wicker. Upon graduating from high school he worked for the local paper mills for which he retired from on January 1, 1997. On June 19, 1954 he married his high school sweetheart Barbara (Campsure) Wicker and together they raised 4 children.
Jim was a paper machine rewinder operator for many many years until his retirement. He also proudly took care of the church they belonged to in Green Bay prior to moving to Pound. Jim enjoyed his family vacations up north or just going to his in-laws and spending the day with them. His love for puzzles was evident by the number of puzzles he did especially in the winter months when he wasn't outside as much. He loved his roses and had a very green thumb when it came to growing them.
Jim is survived by his wife of 69 years Barb; Son Steve (Sue) Wicker, Frostproof, FL; Tina (Tracy) Ellis, Suamico; and Dave (Toni) Wicker, Green Bay; grandchildren Jenni (Justin) Stowe, Tammy Wicker, Ashley (Chris) Radabaugh, Nate (Brooke) Shriver, Devon Wauters, Jordan (fiance Anna Nell) Wauters, Shania Wauters, Spencer Christensen, Seth Wicker, Beth Wicker, and Nicolas Wicker; and many great and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, one son Tom Wicker and other family members.
The family would like to give a huge Thank you to the staff at Meadowbrook for all of the great care they have given Jim and also Barb.
