Jane Patza

April 5, 1935 — March 6, 2024

Jane Frances Patza, nee Herlache, of Seymour passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024, surrounded by family. She will always be remembered as a woman with a big heart who loved nothing more than being a wife to her husband Bruce and mother to her tribe of nine children. Family was her life. She lived modestly and took joy in life’s small pleasures, like a good book and a bottle of Diet Mountain Dew, or an occasional night out at the casino with Bruce.  Sadly after 88 years, her big heart gave out, and after a brief struggle, she succumbed to cardiac complications.

Jane was born April 5,1935 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. On November 6, 1954, she and Bruce were joined in marriage and began their seven decades-long journey together. She is survived by her husband Bruce, and their 9 children, 22 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Always her pride and joy, they are as follows:

Bob and his wife Diane; their children Austin, Erica, Jean (spouse Rick), and Paul (spouse Sarah); and their grandchildren Aidan and Zach.

Bill and his wife Cindy; their daughter Jenny (spouse Marcus); and their grandchildren Norah and Ryder.

Dave and his wife Karen; their children Sarah (partner Jed) and Mike (spouse Amanda); and grandsons Chase and Jacob.

Dan and his wife Holly; their sons Cole (fiancé Bridget) and Clay.

Scott and his wife Jessie; their children Shane (spouse Holly) and Alex (spouse Ben); and grandchildren Paxton, Zoey, Barrett, and Theodore.

Tom; his daughter Kayleigh (spouse Jerrod); and granddaughters Ada and Isla.

Ann and her husband John Shippy; their children Ashley (spouse Billy), Nathaniel, Ben (spouse Stephanie), and Jason; and grandson Levi.

Tim and his wife Jenny; their daughters Ellie, Macy, Brittany, and Kenzie; and grandchildren Charlotte and Cash.

Sam and his wife Jen; their son Grant.

Jane passed away only months before the birth of her first great-great-grandchild and is further survived by her sister Pam (Herlache) Starr, and brothers-in-law Tom and Lee Patza. She was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Marion (Kasbohm) Herlache, and her eldest sister Joan (Herlache) Jackson.

In lieu of a funeral or formal memorial service, Jane’s family will be hosting a private celebration of her life.
