Jean Burg

Jean A Burg, 84, of Green Bay, Wisconsin passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of December 22, 2023 after battling cancer for the greater part of 2023. Throughout her fight, she never lost her feisty sense of humor, love for her family and dear friends. Jean was born on April 22, 1939 to Les and Ione (Boileau) Wellner. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Gustav Burg, on August 8, 1959, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Jean studied to be a nurse and finished her career working with Dr Douglas Pierre, a periodontal surgeon in Green Bay. When Jean wasn't out on a "walk about" with her girl friends, you could find her working in her extensive park-like garden. People walking down the street always stopped and peered in, asking to take a tour. Jean was always more than willing to accommodate them, often times sending them home with plant clippings to grow in their own gardens.

Jean is survived by her children; Linda Kope and William (Colleen) Burg; her grandchildren Daniel Ruddy, Ayla (Trevor) Strong, and Dylan Burg; great grandchildren Alaina and Jordy. She is preceded in death by her husband Ken and her favorite dog Ms. Abbigail Wigglebutt.

The family would like to Unity Hospice for all they did for Jean in her final weeks. There are no words to convey how invaluable their staff and services were in helping Jean move on from this life and into the next. Also, a very special thanks to her many wonderful friends including Jim and Lori, Tim and Becky, Marilyn, Connie, Debbie, Lil, Anne, Amy and Marcie. Your assistance and compassion were immeasurable.

To honor Jean's wishes, there will not be a service. In lieu of flowers, Jean would rather you plant a flower in your own garden, in remembrance and to enjoy.
