Jerald “Jerry” Tollar, 69, Green Bay, formerly Abilene, TX, found peace early Saturday morning, April 1, 2017, at a local nursing home. Born Feb. 10, 1948, in Mosinee, WI, he is the son of the late Martin and Elnora (Freeman) Tollar. Jerry served as a police officer in the U.S. Army, stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War. After returning from service, he worked in various machine shops in both Wisconsin and Texas. Jerry enjoyed country and western dancing. He was passionate about all types cars, especially refurbishing and building cars. Jerry will be remembered for greeting everyone with his huge friendly smile.
Jerry is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Angela Lynn and Doug Hiatt, Colorado; one son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Paula Tollar, De Pere, WI; five grandchildren, Samantha, Sandra, Brittney, Teagan, and Trevin; and great-grandchildren; one sister, Lena Carpenter, Mosinee; nieces and nephews; special friend and companion, Sandra McNeill, Abilene, TX; friends, Scott and Charlotte Hayes and many other dear friends in Abilene, TX.
He was also preceded in death by an infant twin sister, June; sister, Deloris; brothers, Martin, Jimmy, Reggie, Darrell
Jerry will be buried with his parents in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Mosinee, WI. Simply Cremation, Green Bay, is serving the family.
