Jerome (Jerry) Reitzner was born September 19, 1927. His father Nicholas died when Jerry was 11 years old. Jerry and his three brothers took care of his mother Mabel until she passed in 1982. He joined the navy on his 17th birthday in 1944 and served thru 1948. In April of 1948, he married Faye White in a small church in Escondido, CA. He and Faye returned to the fox valley to raise their six children, three dogs, and two parakeets.
Jerry was employed at American Can in Neenah where he retired in 1991. Dad was a union man and supported employee rights and good wages and benefits. He also served on the board for the local National Alliance for the Mentally Ill He enjoyed camping and fishing in Wisconsin, Montana, and Arizona. Dad lived a long, full, and rich life. Jerry outlived his parents, his wife, his siblings, his son David, and most of his friends.
Survivors include five children: Steven, Robert, Gary, Clifford (Penny), Janice and one grandchild Nicole.
Dad enjoyed his stays at Island Shores, Elder Lodge and Copperstone Memory Care. His final years were handled with grace and compassion by Thedacare hospice. Dr. Lopez, Dr. Kane, Beth, Holly, Angela and all your team: Blessings to you all!!!
