Jerome "Jerry" Macuk

May 27, 1947 — April 17, 2024

Jerome (Jerry) Macuk, 76, of Green Bay, Wisconsin went to heaven unexpectedly on April 17, 2024.

Jerry was born in Wilmington, Delaware on May 27, 1947 to parents John and Martha (Wisnieski) Macuk. He spent his summers camping at the ocean with his family. He enjoyed fishing and crabbing. When Jerry was 14 he came to Pulaski, Wisconsin to join the Franciscan Monastery. While he was in Pulaski he enjoyed attending the Pulaski High School basketball games where he eventually met his future wife, Marcia Nowicki. Jerry made the difficult decision to leave the Monastery and moved back to Delaware at the age of 22. Upon moving home, he struck up a long distance friendship with Marcia, fell in love with her and asked for her hand in marriage. They married on November 11, 1972 at Assumption BVM in Pulaski and remained happily married for the next 51 years until his passing. After Jerry and Marcia wed, they moved out to Wilmington by Jerry's family but moved back to Green Bay about a year later as Marcia missed her family and Jerry's love for her was so strong.

Jerry tried his hand at many jobs until he found his calling, driving school bus and handicap vans. He was very passionate in helping others and enjoyed the friendships he developed with the people he drove.

Jerry and Marcia were also very active in their faith as members of St. Agnes Parish in Green Bay. Jerry enjoyed being an usher and growing his faith through the many activities the church offered.

In their 51 years together, Jerry and Marcia traveled to Delaware as much as they could to visit family and friends there. The bond between Jerry's family in Delaware and his family in Wisconsin is very strong and they were (and still are) very close. This connection made the miles between the families seem small.

Most of all, Jerry enjoyed being a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved fiercely and his family was everything to him. His daily routine included calling loved ones just to say hi and tell them how much he loved them and how proud he was of them.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Marcia and their two beautiful daughters, Diana (Darin) Berendsen and Ann Macuk; his three wonderful grandchildren, Sophie, Sonja and Everett.  Jerry is also survived by his Sister-In-Laws Kathy (Newy) Edwardson and Jan Horn, East Coast nephew and niece, Mark (Karen) Taylor, Debbie (Wayne) Carlisle; Midwest nephew and nieces, Eric Edwardson, Christy Chen and Michelle (Colin) Meenans; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Barbara Taylor and Sister Julita; Brother-In-Law Dale Taylor, Mother-In-Law and Father-in-Law Gladys and Sy Nowicki; Brother-In-Law Tony Horn; Daughter Ann's significant other Ben Spence; nephew Dan Chen; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family would like to thank the many friends and family who have stood by his side all these years. Your loving friendship and help will always remain in our hearts. They would also like to thank the many physicians and staff at Prevea Health, St. Vincent Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital and Forefront Dermatology who cared for Jerry throughout the years.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 18th at St. Agnes Catholic Church on 1484 Ninth Street in Green Bay. Visitation will be from 9am-11am followed by a Catholic Funeral Mass at 11am.
