The angels came and took Jerry Koeppe to be with his beloved wife, Dorothy, on Monday, February 8, 2021. He is irreplaceable in our lives and will be missed forever.
Jerry was born in Milwaukee and met his "Mitzi" on a blind date. During their life together, Jerry spent a number of years as a draftsperson but eventually followed his own vision. He owned one of the first rental stores in Appleton, then moved on to owning and managing his properties in Forestville. Together he and Dorothy had 65 years of life together, raising their family, enjoying their grandchildren and finally retiring to an old Belgian Farm house in Door County.
Jerry also served in the Army during the Korean War and was very connected to his Veteran's status. He was an accomplished accordionist and blessed all of his family with that heritage of either being a musician or loving music as he did. He never lost his zest for learning and loved sharing stories with everyone. Jerry had enjoyed playing cards and meeting new people in his last few years at New Perspective in Howard -- all the people who knew him just enjoyed his company as he did theirs.
His wife, Dorothy left this earth before him, on October 17, 2016. His devotion and love for her never faded as he took care of her during her long illness from Alzheimer's. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Fischer, just this past July, which saddened him greatly.
He leaves behind two children, Kristopher (Marina) Koeppe, Appleton; and Karen (Donald) LuMaye, Green Bay; 5 grandchildren: Kristyn Koeppe, Donny (Christal) LuMaye, Andy LuMaye, Patrick (Cindi) Fischer, and Daniel (Suzanne) Fischer; 6 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
