Joan Hanes of Two Rivers, Wisconsin age 79 died March 4, 2024 at Manitowoc Rehab Center surrounded by her loving children.
She was born on August 28, 1944 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. Daughter of Rita (Lesperance) and Raymond Vanne. Joan had 7 children. She completed High School and went on to get her Bachelor degree in Social Work at University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. She did her internship at Manitowoc Domestic Violence. She was a Senior Counselor for 11 years at the Manitowoc Domestic Violence Center from June 1985 - 1992 . She also volunteered at the Run Away Program in Sheboygan. She enjoyed diamond art, calligraphy, crocheting, card games, detailed scrapbooking, helping others, and making people laugh.

Her surviving children include: Tammy (Robert) Godersky, Wendy "Ahnna" Hanes, Rodney Hanes, Cheryl Buchardt, Todd (Janessa) Hanes, Troy (Julie) Hanes, Stephanie (Loren) Vanderloop. She had 49 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Surviving Siblings are: Diane (Robert) Lawler, Robert Vanne, Jim (Lois) Vanne and Anna Marie Vanne. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Our Family would like to thank everyone that made my mom's life special! Extra Thank you to the wonderful staff at Magnolia and Manitowoc Rehab Center for caring for our mother.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at Hope Community Church in Manitowoc, Wisconsin on Friday, March 22, 2024. Visitation at 10:00 AM, Service at 11:00 AM, and food to follow.

Joanie loved her kids and grandchildren dearly!
