Joanne (Coenen) Seitz - “Grandma Jo Jo” left for her last trip on October 29, 2023; she was 87 years
young. Joanne was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan, to Joseph and Genevieve Coenen. She was raised
and lived her life in De Pere/Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Her life was all about her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren… and travelling! She travelled
extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the United States.
Her most enjoyable work life was spent as a hostess at Bilotti’s Forum, a popular establishment in the
1960s, where she had the opportunity to meet many celebrities and interesting people of that time
period. She worked many long hours, as a single mother raising three children, often working 3 jobs at a
time. She didn’t complain; she modeled unselfish parenting to her children who, to this day, have so
much love and respect for her.
Joanne valued her longtime friends, many of whom she kept close contact with since her early school
days. She met her close high school friends, the Golden Red Birds, for monthly gatherings up to the end.
She enjoyed her weekly Friday and Sunday card club get-togethers as much for the social outing with
friends as for the card playing.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Dawn Espie. She is survived by son, Steven (Terri) Seitz;
daughter, Wendy (Scott) Perkl; Son-in-law John Espie; grandchildren, Brenna Seitz, Reed Espie, Kristin
(Nate) Zepnick, Kalyn (Tyler) Selissen, Anna (Matt) Haroldson, and Joelle (Zach) Richardson; and 10
great-grandchildren.
Per Joanne’s wishes, a private family celebration-of-life will be held.
