John was born in College Point, New York on September 9, 1948 to William and Ursula
Frohlich. He is survived by an older brother, Robert and sisters Joanne (Jack) Wilson and Helen
Diaz. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ursula in 1992 and father William in 2010.
John was baptized at the First Reformed Church of College Point and attended PS 127. He later
moved to New Jersey, where he was a leading athlete on the basketball team of Lakeland
Regional High School in Wanaque, New Jersey. Upon graduation, John accepted a basketball
scholarship to attend Acadia University in Nova Scotia, Canada. He spent more than 20 years
working in the food service industry in Canada, last managing the food service program at a
major university. While living in Canada, John learned to love the sport of curling, and was a
member of a very competitive team.
After moving to Florida to be with family, John again worked in the food service field, and for a
period of time was partner in a tile business. He later moved to Wisconsin, and was last working
as a deli manager at Walmart in Green Bay.
John was a great sports fan, faithfully cheering on the New York Jets. He had many friends and
enjoyed joining them for a meal and conversation. John was an intelligent, caring and hardworking
man who will be missed by his friends, co-workers and family.
