Judith “Judy” (Ditmars) Aiello passed away peacefully at her Green Bay home on Thursday, Nov.
17, in the loving presence of her daughter and husband following a long illness. She was 77
years old.
Born in Trenton, N.J. on July 24, 1945, Judy met her husband Arthur (“Art”) when he was an
airman stationed at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. They were married in New Jersey
and shared 56 loving years together. Judy and Art moved from New Jersey to Wisconsin in 1978
and called Green Bay home ever since.
Judy was an active member of St. Jude Catholic Church, converting to Catholicism shortly after
arriving in Green Bay. It was through their involvement in the church that she and Art cultivated
a wide circle of friends with whom they shared many holidays, special events, and a whole lot
of laugh-filled dinners. Judy enjoyed entertaining, and often cooked, as her husband put it,
“enough food to feed an army.”
While raising her family in Wisconsin, Judy worked for 28 years at Goodwill Industries. After her
retirement, she doted on her grandchildren, traveled a bit with her husband, and played bunco
with friends.
Judy is survived by her husband Art, daughter Lisa Tuozzo, son Arthur (Shelly), grandson
Dominick, granddaughter Mallory, granddaughter Kayla Koller, her cousin Patricia (Ditmars)
DeAngelo, who was like a sister to her, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in
death by her parents Ralph and Mildred (née Bunting) Ditmars, sisters Sandra Rue and Audrey
Battista, and brothers Ralph and Robert Ditmars.
The family would like to thank all of Judy’s friends and family members who helped care for her
and offer support in her final weeks and showed her how much she was loved. Particular thanks
goes to Jean Routhieaux for her loving assistance at Judy and Art’s home.
Visitation is scheduled for 9 AM on Saturday, Nov. 26, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division
St., Green Bay, immediately followed by a funeral mass at 11 AM.
