Judy K. Hansen was born on June 20, 1948 in Black River Falls, WI, and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 5, 2015 in Green Bay, WI, after a courageous battle with cancer. Judy graduated in 1966 from Black River Falls High School. She graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay with a Bachelor of Arts in 1989. She was currently an employee of Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, where she worked proudly as a video monitor technician.
She was preceded in death by her parents Arlene (Kvistad) Hansen and Vernon Hansen, as well as brothers Ricky Hansen and Randy Hansen, and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Hansen) Huff and grandchildren, Kayley, Kaitlyn, and Mason Huff. Also surviving Judy are sisters, Sandra (Gregg) Gruselle and Debra (Michael) Burgau, and brother, Gary (Dawn) Hansen, as well as many special nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and dear cousins and friends. Additionally, Judy is survived by her loving companion, her cat, Suki.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Philip Lane Goolsby and his staff for their many years of care, as well as her oncologist Dr. Ubaid Nawaz and his staff. The family extends a very special thank you to Unity Hospice, especially her caregivers Traci and Sarah, as well as the entire staff at the Jack and Engrid Meng Residence. Additionally, the family thanks Simply Cremation.
Judy lived a life of kindness, strength, and perseverance. She was loved by many, and will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral Services will be held at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 115 N. 5th Street, in Black River Falls, WI, on Thursday, April 9 at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow at the church. Simply Cremation, Green Bay, cared for the family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Judy’s name and will be donated in her memory to Unity Hospice in Green Bay, as well as Project Christmas in Black River Falls.
