Kathleen Hillary

Kathleen Hillary died peacefully in the Aurora BayCare Hospice on Friday, November 20, 2015, after having had a stroke seven weeks earlier. Kathleen was born in Dodgeville, Wisconsin on July 15, 1948 to Scott and Mary Hillary, who preceded her in death. Kathleen grew up on a farm, close to her beloved granny. She graduated from UWGB in 1994 and later attended seminary in Minneapolis for two years, hoping to be ordained an Episcopal priest. As her primary lateral sclerosis, which started in her late teens, grew worse, she became more housebound, but was comforted by visits from her friends, the presence of her cats, medieval mysteries, and the occasional visit to Barnes and Noble in her wheelchair. Kathleen received good care from the Bufflehead Home in Bellevue.

She leaves behind a sister-in-law Vicki, a nephew, and a niece, all in Texas.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Robert (Skip) and George Hillary; and stepmother, Betty Hillary.

A private service will be held, and her ashes taken to Cornwall, England, home of her ancestors.
