Kathy age 62 of Menasha passed away peacefully in her sleep after a short but very aggressive illness.
Kathy was born in Grand Island Nebraska to the late Diana (Kilps) and Archie Cornelius.
Kathy had her share of tough times in life- but always pushed through to the best of her ability, the best way she knew how.
Kathy was born and raised in Grand Island Nebraska. She would often speak of her childhood friend Dorothy, whom she remained close with. She loved Dorothy just like a sister and I'm sure they got into some shenanigans just as sisters would do!
Kathy moved to Wisconsin in the early 80s when she met our Dad.
Kathy later married husband, Mike and remained married for over 25 years until his passing last fall.
Kathy did a variety of jobs including landscaping and working as a clerk. Kathy loved all things flowers and plants. She could literally grow anything!! She had worked at a couple golf courses, caring for and planning flower beds. She loved that. She would also mow for the golf courses. She took a lot of pride in her work in creating a beautiful space.
In her free time Kathy enjoyed embroidery and sewing. She made many pretty things sewn by hand. She enjoyed reading occasionally and loved watching older shows and movies like "Gone with the Wind" and "Little House on the Prairie". She was a Grandma to two children (Logan and Ally) whom she loved very much. Kathy enjoyed baking and cooking. She was best known for her fried chicken dinners and cookies! Omg- she made the best chicken!!
She is proceeded in death by her husband Michael Galyardt, Mom Diana, Dad Archie, Grace and two close friends Darlene and Terry.
Kathy is survived by her son Andrew (Andy) Snider. Daughter Lindsey, son in law Derrick Hance and two grandchildren Logan and Allyson Hance. Kathy is also survived by her brother Larry, cousin Jan, friends Dorothy, Laura and Tessa among other friends and family. I'll also include her kitty "Sherman".
Kathy will be loved and missed by those who knew her.
At this time no formal service arrangements have been made. We may do a small gathering at a later date. Will communicate that when the time comes per my moms wishes.
