Kathleen M. Lancelle, 72, of Green Bay, Wisconsin passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on May 3rd, 2021.
Kathleen was born in Tokyo, Japan on January 3rd, 1949 to Darrell V. Lancelle Sr. and MaBelle P. (Knox) Lancelle. She graduated from West High School in Green Bay, WI and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay in Social Work.
Kathleen’s ambition in life was to make the world a better place. She had a long and esteemed career in the helping profession of social work. While Kathleen was incredibly proud of her career history, she was most proud of the time she spent serving the people of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin. She worked in the Center for Self Sufficiency until eventually transferring to help establish Oneida’s Child Support Agency. She remained with the Oneida Nation’s Child Support Agency until her retirement in 2016.
To know her was to know what unconditional love could be. Kathleen always made time for anyone who needed her because each and every person that she met was important to her. She gave selflessly, without an agenda, and never expected anything in return. Hers was a rare soul that had remained untainted by cynicism and bitterness throughout her life. Should we all aspire to be more like her, the world would be a kinder and more gentle place.
Other than her passion for social work, she was an avid reader, gardener, and crafter.
Kathleen is survived by her loving daughter Jennifer (Jones) Steffens; her granddaughter Elizabeth Steffens; younger brother, Darrell (Janine) Lancelle Jr.; younger brother, Jeffrey Lancelle; younger sister, Saima (Dave Dollhopf) Lancelle; younger sister, Deborah (Eric Ingebretson) Lancelle-Gibbons; sister-in-law, Annette Lancelle. Beloved nieces and nephews; Matthew, Angela, Aaron, Adam, Jeremy, Melanie, Benjamin, Jeffrey Jr., Jacob, Joshua, Robert, Christopher, Stephanie, Cole, all of their amazing significant others and much adored great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Darrell and MaBelle Lancelle; younger brother, Gary Lancelle; younger brother, Michael Lancelle; and sister-in-law Jeri Lancelle.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 8th, 2021 at Malcore Funeral Home (WEST) on 1530 West Mason St. Green Bay, WI from 4pm to 6pm.
