Kenneth Oliver Granfors passed away on July 29th, 2024 at Aurora Hospital, Green Bay after a 3 year battle with multiple myeloma. Ken waws born in Battle Creek, Michigan on October 5th, 1945 to Edward and Emma (Kaudy) Granfors. He graduated from Hastings High School. After graduating from Michigan State with a degree in Packaging Engineering, he enlisted in the US Air Force, serving from 1968-1972.

For several years after that he ran an electronics store with a business partner. For the next 40 years, he worked as a software engineer for Measurex, Honeywell and TSP. 

Ken moved to Green Bay in the 1980's. In 1998 he married Maxine Pecore at First United Methodist Church. In 2006, they moved to their "happy place", a ten acre hobby farm in the town of Gibson. Ken was in his element with all the critters he loved to care for; alpacas, chickens, dogs, cats, and the occasional racoon. He had a soft spot for coons having had a pet racoon for awhile when in high school. He had the kind of gentle spirit that animals tend to gravitate to. 

Ken is survived by his wife, Maxine; step daughter, Mari Meyer; and grandson, Abe Meyer. He is further survived by his brother and sister in law, Wayne Granfors and Susan Soss, in California; sister, Aileen Bennet, in Florida; as well as his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eddie (Betty), Ernie (Winifred), Jack (Jane) Granfors; and sister Anne (Bill) McNally.

A memorial service is planned for September 7, 2024 at Melnik Presbyterian Church, 12320 Melnik Rd. in Whitelaw, WI. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM, and a lunch to follow. Memorium donations can be made in his name to the Lakeshore Humane Society, 1551 8th St. Manitowoc, WI 54220.
