Larry Larson

July 30, 1942 — July 8, 2023

Sheboygan Falls, WI

Larry Larson, 80 years old, of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin passed away peacefully in his sleep during the early morning hours on July 8th, 2023. Many knew his straightforward approach to all his aspects in life. He was one of a kind and fun to be with no matter what the occasion. Larry was messing with the medical staff until the end while making them laugh.
Larry was born in International Falls, Minnesota on July 30th, 1942, to the parents of LC and Irene (Mason) Larson. He attended Denfeld High School through the 10th grade in Duluth, MN. At 18 years old he enrolled in the Navy for four years. Many funny and interesting stories were shared from his Navy days. He returned to his family who then lived in Silver Bay, Minnesota and obtained his GED through night classes at the William Kelley High School. He went on to receive welding certifications and had secured a job at the local taconite plant located on Lake Superior. His welding career brought travel and he ended up moving to Sheboygan Falls in 1969 to start a job at the Edgewater Power Plant until the construction was completed. Larry then studied to become a licensed electrician. He was a union electrician for the rest of his career until retirement.
Over the years Larry enjoyed wrenching on muscle cars, hunting and fishing at many different destinations, traveling South to Arizona for the winter, and was an avid trap shooter. He was a member at Ridge Runners Sportsman Club in Cascade, Wisconsin.
Larry is survived by his son Kelly (Sarah) Larson, grandchildren Myles and Daphne, special friend Joan Wehrmann, sister Sandy Larson-Scharnott, brothers Tom Larson and Scott Larson, sister-in-law Sharen Larson, nephew Mike (Jody), nieces Michelle, Kim, Patti Jo, and Sherri. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Tim Larson, sister-in-law Debbie Larson and nephew Justin.
The family would like to send out a special thank you to all the close friends and family who visited to conversate and make him laugh. You truly kept his spirit alive. Also, a thank you to the Aurora Medical Center and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice facility for diagnosing and keeping Larry comfortable during his final days.
There will be a “Celebration of Life” for anyone who knew Larry at Ridge Runners Sportsman Club, N3163 Tipperary Rd, Cascade, WI 53011 on Saturday, August 5th from Noon until 6:00PM. Join us for some BBQ and a drink to commemorate this friend of many.
